Vacuum Filter Quick Start Guide
This guide covers the basic assembly and operation of the vacuum filter system, including funnel mounting, clamp installation, valve setup, and correct filter paper preparation.

Quick Facts
Required Components:
- Funnel
- Mounting bracket
- Clamp assembly (rubber half + metal clamp)
- Glass flask
- Barbed valve
- Drain valve
Filter Paper Sizes:
- 100L: 750 mm / 75 cm / 29.5"
- 50L: 450 mm / 45 cm / 17.71"
- 20L: 350 mm / 35 cm / 13.77"
- 5L: 30 cm (11.81") or 22 cm (8.66")
Assembly Instructions
- The funnel ships installed in the mounting bracket; clamp assembly and flask are packaged separately.
- Open all pieces and inspect for damage. If damaged, contact USA Lab.
- Lift the funnel and secure it to make room for the flask.
- Add the rubber half of the clamp to the flask.
- Loosen the mount, lower the funnel into the flask, and secure the connection.
- Insert the barbed valve into the offset port on top of the flask.
- Assemble the drain valve as shown in the document.
Operation Instructions
- Connect your vacuum source to the barb on the offset port of the flask.
- Place your filter paper into the funnel.
- Wet the filter paper with clean solvent used in your solution.
- Turn on your vacuum source.
- Open the barb valve on the flask to begin depressurizing the vessel.
- Once the filter paper is:**
- fully flat
- free of creases
- …it is ready for filtration.
- (Repeated wetting may be necessary.)
