USA Lab UC/DLSB-5/10 Series Chiller Pump Replacement Guide
This guide walks through the full pump removal and replacement process for UC/DLSB-5/10 chillers. It includes panel removal, tubing disconnection, insulation removal, pump unbolting, wiring disconnection, and reinstallation steps. A separate section covers ripped tube replacement if damage occurs during removal.

Required Tools
- Snips
- Zip-ties
- 4mm ball-end Allen wrench
- Flat driver
- Adjustable wrench
- Phillips driver
- Needle-nose pliers
- Spray adhesive
Optional:
- Spare silicone tubing
- Knife
- 10mm wrench
- Mini adjustable wrench
- Drill or low-torque impact drill
- Foil/metal tape
STEP 1 — Remove the Front Panel
- Remove the four screws securing the front panel. (Shown on page 2.)
STEP 2 — Remove the Top Panel
- Remove six additional screws plus one large nut securing the top panel.
- Once removed, the interior becomes accessible.
STEP 3 — Remove the Inlet Line on the Side Panel
- Cut 2–3 zip-ties and pull back the insulation around the inlet line.
STEP 4 — Loosen the Hose Clamp & Remove the Tube
- Loosen the hose clamp and carefully remove the tubing from the barb.
- If the tube rips, follow the Ripped Tube Replacement Instructions later in this guide.
STEP 5 — Remove the Pump Side Panel
- Remove the two bottom screws to detach the panel.
STEP 6 — Remove Insulation Wrap on Pump
- Carefully unwrap the insulation. Remember how it was originally wrapped for reinstallation.
STEP 7 — Cut Zip-Ties on Pump Inlet Insulation
- Cut 2–3 zip-ties, similar to step 3.
- Important: Do not lose the white O-ring.
STEP 8 — Remove Lower Hex Bolts
- Remove the two lower 4mm hex head bolts (do not remove the upper bolt).
STEP 9 — Disconnect Pump Wiring
- Begin at the power box and remove the pump wiring.
STEP 10 — Remove the Capacitor and Pump
- Detach the capacitor from the tank wall and lift the pump out of the unit.
STEP 11 — Remove Shipping Housing From Replacement Pump
- The replacement pump arrives with a temporary housing that is the incorrect size—it is only for protection during shipping.
- Remove this housing from the pump and impeller.
STEP 12 — Install Factory Housing on New Pump & Reinstall
- Reinstall the factory housing onto the new pump and impeller.
- Reverse the removal steps to reinstall the pump.
- Additional required actions:
- Replace all cut zip-ties.
- When re-wrapping insulation, use spray adhesive to bond the ends.
Ripped Tube Replacement Instructions
(Only required if the tubing was damaged during Step 4.)
- Cut remaining zip ties and remove the insulation.
- Remove the hose clamp and the damaged tube.
- Add a new hose section and tighten the hose clamp.
- Slip on insulation if possible.
- If needed, cut lengthwise.
- Push the other end of the hose onto the barb and reinstall the hose clamp.
- Tape cut insulation areas and re-zip-tie.
- Now you can continue the reinstallation process from steps 3 to 1.
