This guide outlines the complete procedure for removing and replacing the control head on an RE-200A rotary evaporator. Steps include removing screws, disconnecting color-coded connectors, detaching the motor, and removing grounding hardware.

STEP 1 — Remove the Four Screws on the Head
- Remove the four screws shown in the images (pg.1).
- Once removed, the head becomes movable, but keep it resting on top of the base until the wiring is disconnected.
STEP 2 — Hold the Motor While Loosening the Retaining Knob
- Hold the motor securely while unscrewing the knob that holds it in place.
- If unsupported, the motor or the unit may fall.
STEP 3 — Disconnect the Two Motor Connectors
- Pull the motor away from the base. Two connectors must be unplugged at this stage.

- BLACK, YELLOW, RED
- GREEN, BLUE, WHITE, BLACK, RED
- BLUE, GREY, BLACK, GREEN, MAROON
STEP 4 — Remove the Grounding Screw
- Remove the grounding screw attached to the inside of the housing.
STEP 5 — Disconnect the Three Head Connectors
- Hold the head while disconnecting all three connectors.

- BLUE, BLUE
- BLACK, BLACK, RED
- BLACK, RED, YELLOW
- GREEN, WHITE
- BLACK, RED
STEP 6 — Cut the Ziptie
- Cut the ziptie that secures the wiring bundle to release the head from the base.
STEP 7 — Remove the Head
- Lift the head from the base.
- To install a replacement head, repeat all steps in reverse order.
