UC Series Recirculating Chiller Manual & Setup Guide

Complete guide for installing, operating, and maintaining your UC Series chiller (Models: 5/10, 20/20, 20/40, 30/30, 30/40, 30/80, 50/30, 50/40)

Quick Setup Instructions

Included in the box:

  • 1x UC Series Chiller

  • 12 ft Insulated Tubing

  • Brass Barb Fittings + Ball Valve

  • PTFE Tape, Manual

Positioning:

  • Keep at least 12–16 inches of space around the unit for ventilation.

  • Place the chiller within 6 ft of the system you’re cooling.


Fluid Requirements

Use Propylene Glycol (PG) + Distilled Water.
NEVER use tap water or automotive antifreeze.

Target Temp Blend (PG : DW)
–10°C 30:70
–20°C 40:60
–30°C 50:50
–40°C 60:40
 

Priming Instructions (First Use)

  1. Close outlet valve.

  2. Fill reservoir with glycol mix no higher than 2” below inlet port.

  3. Connect tubing in a loop from outlet → inlet.

  4. Open outlet valve and turn on unit.

  5. Run internal pump for 5 mins (press “LOOP” or “CYCLE”).

  6. Check for strong flow and no air bubbles.

  7. Shut off pump and close outlet valve.

Repeat for external system after loop is primed.


Operating the Chiller

  1. Open outlet valve.

  2. Power on unit and display.

  3. Run internal pump (“LOOP” or “CYCLE”).

  4. Set temperature:

    • LCD Models: Use SET and arrow buttons → COOLING

    • PLC Models (30/80): Select SV → Cool

  5. Wait 5–10 mins for compressor to engage.

Do not run more than 16 hours straight to preserve compressor life.


Maintenance Tips

  • Daily: Check fluid level and for leaks

  • Every 3 months: Replace fluid, inspect hoses and electrical connections

  • Monthly (if dusty): Clean condenser coils with compressed air

  • Store dry and capped when not in use long-term.


Troubleshooting

Issue Possible Causes Fix
No cooling Fan failure, low refrigerant Check fan, call HVAC tech if needed
Slow cooling Glycol mix wrong, blocked flow Reprime, check fluid ratio & tubing
Unit shocks Improper grounding Inspect and fix grounding immediately
No display Wrong power input, faulty board Verify voltage, contact support
