Mantle Burn-In Process
This guide outlines the required burn-in procedure for new mantles. This process removes leftover manufacturing oils, which may cause temporary smoke or discoloration.

Quick Facts
- Maximum Burn-In Temperature: 300°C
- Temperature Increase Rate: 5°C increments
- Ventilation Required: Yes
- Expected Effects: Smoking and bowl discoloration
Burn-In Instructions
- Plug in the mantle in a very well-ventilated area.
- Insert the black jumper into the probe port.
- Turn on the mantle.
- Set temperature to 40°C.
- Once the mantle reaches the setpoint, increase the temperature by 5°C.
- Repeat incremental increases until the mantle reaches 300°C.
- Turn off the mantle and allow it to cool to room temperature.
