Mantle Burn-In Process

This guide outlines the required burn-in procedure for new mantles. This process removes leftover manufacturing oils, which may cause temporary smoke or discoloration.

Quick Facts

  • Maximum Burn-In Temperature: 300°C
  • Temperature Increase Rate: 5°C increments

Burn-In Instructions

  1. Plug in the mantle in a very well-ventilated area.
  2. Insert the black jumper into the probe port.
  3. Turn on the mantle.
  4. Set temperature to 40°C.
  5. Once the mantle reaches the setpoint, increase the temperature by 5°C.
    1. Repeat incremental increases until the mantle reaches 300°C.
  6. Turn off the mantle and allow it to cool to room temperature.
